Cloud bills that don't surprise you
Most cloud waste is invisible until the invoice arrives. Two notes on staying in control of the spend.
1. Right-size before you scale
Most cloud waste is paying for capacity nobody uses. Start small, watch real usage, and grow on evidence. Autoscaling beats guessing, and a budget alert beats a month-end shock.
2. Tag everything from day one
Untagged resources are how a bill becomes a mystery. Tag by environment, service, and owner so you can answer “what is this costing, and why?” in minutes instead of days.
